The trial of former ACU student Brandon Woodruff is now underway. He's accused of murdering his parents. During a chilling jailhouse interview conducted in 2005 by KTVT-TV in Dallas, Brandon Woodruff denied shooting his parents in the neck and face.
"I'm in here for something I didn't do," Woodruff told reporter Jay Gormley. "This is crazy!"
The murders took place more than 3 years ago in a Royse City mobile home. Investigators say there were no signs of a struggle and it appeared the victims knew their attacker. But Woodruff said he loved his parents.
"We had a good relationship," said the accused murderer. "I had everything."
In his arrest affidavit, Woodruff's sister claimed his parents were borderline abusive and that Brandon inherited his father's temper. A former high school classmates also claims Woodruff said he hated his parents and wishes they were dead.
"The truth will come out one day," said Woodruff. "Then I hope the investigators feel sorry for what they've done"
Prosecutors say the evidence speaks for itself. Whether or not it's true will be up to a jury.
