Most of us have that old cell phone lying around the house, just taking up space, so why not hand over your old cell phone for a good cause.

Liberty Tax had a BBQ today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to encourage people to donate their cell phones.

All donated cell phones will then be exchanged for phone cards that will be sent to soldiers.

From now until the end of tax season you can drop off your old cell phones at any Liberty Tax location and then they will be taken overseas to soldiers.

The cell phones will enable service men and women a chance to call home and stay connected with their families.

Liberty Tax encourages people to delete all personal information from the cell phones before making the donations.
