Bill Proposes Strict Rules for Teen Drivers

A Sherman legislator says he has seen too many car crashes involving teens and that something needs to be done about it.
State Representative Larry Phillips is sponsoring a bill that would make it illegal for anyone under 18 to use a cell phone while behind the wheel.
The bill would also increase from seven hours to 34 hours the amount of instruction time behind the wheel teens would have to get a license.
More teens die due to motor vehicle accidents than any other cause, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
