Grassfire Burns in Northeast Abilene

The Abilene Fire Department battled another grassfire in northeast Abilene this afternoon.

The flames were along the railroad tracks between North 16th and Ambler near will Hair Park.

A train may have sparked the blaze.

It was difficult to get to the area along Cedar Creek.

Abilene fire units were aided by Texas Forest Service bulldozers which cut a fire break around the perimeter of the fire.
