A gunman went on a shooting spree in two neighboring south Alabama towns Tuesday afternoon, killing nine people before he shot himself. Alabama police say there were four separate shootings, all by the same gunman.
The shooter killed five people in one home and then four more in Samson, Alabama, near the Florida border.
He fired seven shots at a state trooper's car, injuring that officer, and then shot a police chief.
Police say he then went into a plant where he used to work and took his own life.
