breaking news
After just a few days of rain, area volunteer fire fighters were ready to celebrate.
There was food, music and plenty of fellowship, as volunteer firefighters and residents came together for this afternoons Volunteer Firefighter Appreciation Luncheon.
The celebration was held at Coronados Camp, and while many of the residents that gathered had lost land, none had lost their homes, thanks to over a dozen volunteer fire departments that worked together for weeks to battle the blaze.
Local fire departments have spent most of their budget for this year and they depend heavily on donations to be able to pay the cost of operating their equipment.
If you feel called to help any of our local volunteer fire departments you can donate at the Big Country Firefighters Association website.
