APD: Caller Saves Neighbor's Mower

At 4:30 yesterday morning, Officer Valdez was called to the 3100 block of Danville for an accident. Upon contacting the driver, a 35 year old Hispanic female, an odor of alcohol was detected, she had bloodshot eyes and sluggish movements. Upon contacting the driver, a 35 year old Hispanic female, an odor of alcohol was detected, she had bloodshot eyes and sluggish movements. She was given the field sobriety test and failed. She was arrested for driving while intoxicated and transported to the Taylor County Jail.

Then just after 9:00 yesterday morning, Officer Janesz was called to the 1700 block of Ballinger. The calling party stated that a white male was in the process of stealing a lawn mower from the neighbors front yard. Upon arrival, Officer Janesz observed the subject using a wrench on the riding lawn mower. The neighbor stated that the subject had moved a trailer, removed its license plate and cut a cable that was securing the lawn mower. The subject, a 20 year old white male, was arrested for theft.
