Texas is receiving nearly $342-million dollars from Washington for improvements and protection of public water supplies. The stimulus money will be delivered through existing programs such as the Texas clean water revolving fund and the drinking water revolving funds. The City of Abilene has filed applications under both programs for some of the funds for multiple water improvement projects. There is no word on how much money the city will receive. According to the Economic Stimulus Project List obtained by KRBC News, the city had applied for funds for eight water improvement projects.
