Red light results are expected soon and the city is hoping to make some decisions to make Abilene a safer place to travel.

A seven-member citizens' committee was formed last summer to look at six of the busiest intersections in Abilene, to determine what could be done to make them safer traveling routes.

The city hired Lee Engineering to look at the suggestions and make recommendations for the city of Abilene.   The final drafts were sent to the engineering company and are expected sometime in April.

The committee looked at several things such as pavement markings, speed limits, lengths of yellow lights, and red light running history, all which will be used to determine the necessity of installing red light cameras.
