Look Out for Speed Traps

At some point, you have probably slammed on the breaks at the sight of a police car after speeding down the highway. Now some websites give drivers a heads-up for speed traps, and there is one trap that has gotten a lot of attention right here in the Big Country.
Speedtrap.org allows drivers to post speed traps they have passed through, and other drivers can make comments. One that has gotten a number of comments is Interstate 20 in Clyde.
Clyde police say it is true that I-20 is an area it often patrols, but not for reasons drivers may think. Officer Robert Dalton says I-20 is regularly patrolled because it runs right through the middle of Clyde, and police want to keep the area as safe as possible. Dalton says there have been a number of fatal collisions on that strip of highway as well.
Some Abilene areas have also been posted on speedtrap.org., including Ambler Avenue between H.S.U. and A.C.U. and Winters Freeway at South 7th Street.
