APD: Drive-By Shooting

At 6:00 last night, Officer Poynor was called to the 2500 block of North 3rd Street. The reporting party stated that black Honda Civic or Accord drove by and shot towards the residence where kids were playing in the front yard . The reporting party stated that she knows who the driver is because of previous altercations. She is willing to prosecute if the driver can be located. Then at 1:00 this morning, Officer Farley made a traffic stop in the 2000 block of South 7th Street. The driver a 25 year old white female had a strong odor of alcohol and failed the field sobriety test. There was also on open container of beer inside the car. She was arrested for DWI with an open container and charged with failure to have insurance.
Tomorrow, March 21st, Safety City is hosting a sporting clay shoot to benefit phase one of their building project. This event will be held at Abilene Clay Sports which is located at 1102 Beltway South. It is not too late to sign up.
