The 2009 Abilene Business Expo drew in hundreds of people to the Abilene Civic Center

It was meant for local companies to connect and allow locals to see what these companies are all about.

Now the business expo is not just for business to get exposure, but it's also for networking.

"It's good. It's good to network with people and remind people we are here and we are out to do some business," says owner of Sharon's Barbeque & Catering and Lytle Land & Cattle, Sharon Riley.

She does say the exposure is great as well

"It means exposure, renewing relationships with people; many times with people that forget about you, and when we see them, they say oh gosh, we haven't been in there in a while."

When times seem to get tough across the nation, local companies such as Sharon's BBQ say they are seeing a slight decline in business but are still doing well.

"Well business for us is good. It is softer than it was a year ago, but to me, in this economy, that's good. I mean we are doing well," says Riley.

All agree no matter how businesses are doing, the Abilene Business Expo is a great way to stay connected.
