We now know what caused a stunt plane to crash in Coleman County last July, killing the pilot. The National Transportation Safety Board has released its investigation into the crash of a homebuilt airplane being flown by Brownwood fireman B.J. Carnes. The report says that Carnes' plane ran out of gas, causing it to crash.
He was performing stunts at a fireworks show and party on a ranch near Valera on July 5th, 2008.
The NTSB says it found no fuel in the plane's tanks or fuel lines after the crash.
Carnes died on impact when his plane crashed in an area used to park cars.
