Walk for Austism One Week Away

By: Laura Kellerman
Updated: March 27, 2009
The 2009 West Texas Walk Now for Autism takes place at the Abilene Zoo next Saturday, April 4.

Similar walks around the country are Autism Speaks' main means of fund raising.  The organization seeks to increase awareness, determine the causes, and discover treatments for the disease.

This is the first Walk Now for Autism taking place in West Texas.  A satellite walk in San Angelo will take place at the same time as the event at the Abilene Zoo.

There are four other walks taking place in Texas this year.

Click here to donate to KRBC's selected team: Hendrick Center for Rehabilitation.

Donations can still be made after the event is over.
