Mrs. Leslie Dowell has been teaching for over 30 years.And her students try to express their love for their teacher.
"very nice, " says A.J. Trevino.
"very nice," Zane Clare also adds.
Mrs. Dowell is a Special Education Teacher and she knew from a very young age that special education was her calling.
"God has placed in my heart a calling for these children. Ever since I was a little girl.,I've read books about special needs children, i watched movies about them and I just searched them out," says Dowell.
One of her students says that she likes Mrs. Dowell because she knows Mrs. Dowell likes her.
"Mrs. Dowell, she likes me," adds another student.
This College Heights Elementary teacher was nominated by one of her student's grandparents, and she says she is so honored.
"It is such an honor and a pleasure, I am truly blessed by these children and by the family that honored me," says Dowell.
Dowell says the best part of teaching is the students.
"The children, and I love the children and I love their for me and for learning and that is just always so rewarding."
