The Dangers of High Winds

Several areas in Abilene spent last night in the dark.
The high powered wind, sometimes traveling up to 50 miles-per-hour, caused blackouts all over town. American Electric Power says if you ever see a power line on the ground, don't touch it.
Call the fire department immediately, and keep everyone away from the line until they arrive.
High winds also pose a fire threat.
The state's division of emergency management is warning that the danger of fire will increase again tomorrow and extend into Saturday across western Texas as a new front system enters the state.
High winds and low humidities will be present.
Most of the Big Country remains under a burn ban.
