AISD's new science and math academy opening in the fall has a lot of parents asking questions.

The Director of NTHS@ACU, John M. Martinez, is putting together a series of forums called TechTalk to help address parents' and students' curiosity about the new program.

  • April 14   Parent Informational Session (including a student panel from NTHS @ Coppell) at Hunter Welcome Center at ACU, 7:30-8:30pm
  • April 16   TechTalk (parent session) Mann Middle School Auditorium, 7:00pm
  • April 21   TechTalk (parent session) Madison Middle School Auditorium, 6:00pm
  • April 23   TechTalk (parent session) One AISD Center, Board Room, 6:00pm

The first class will consist of 100 9th graders.  Curriculum will be based on that of the New Tech Foundation, which uses project-based learning.

The Texas Education Agency awarded AISD a grant of nearly $500 thousand for the "T-STEM" academy.
