Purse Snatcher Runs out of Gas... Oops!

By: RNS
Updated: April 10, 2009
DALLAS -- A purse-snatcher accused of attacking elderly women is now locked up in Dallas.

One of the victims is 76-years-old.  She was pushed violently while the thief made a grab for her purse.

Another victim in her 60s was left bruised and bloody when a man snatched her purse and sped off in his car, knocking her to the ground.

Timothy Franklin's un-doing, though, came quickly when he ran out of gas and asked a Dallas police officer for a push to the gas station.

Later, the officer recognized a police description of the car and tracked Franklin down.
