APD: 2.5x the Legal Limit

 Over the weekend, Officer Joeris stopped a vehicle in the 1300 block of Westway for failure to signal a turn. As Officer Joeris approached the vehicle, he could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. During the subsequent investigation, the driver, a 29 year old hispanic male, was found to be in possession of marijuana and was arrested.

Officer Hogue responded to a check welfare/suspicious vehicle call in the 1000 block of Ruswood. Officer Hogue contacted the operator of the vehicle. This 20 year old white male, was intoxicated and was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. The suspect later provided a breath specimen that was 2.5 times over the legal limit. This incident marks the 165th DWI in Abilene since January 1st. Please, dont drink and drive.
