Funeral arrangements are still in the works for Sgt. Christopher Loza, 24, a soldier from Abilene who died at Walter Reed Army Hospital last Friday of an unknown illness.

According to a posting on marsmen.org, Loza was promoted to sergeant while in the hospital.

"Losing a soldier to illness, let alone an illness with no known cause or treatment, is especially hard," wrote the webmaster.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Elmwood Funeral Home.
