Hobby Lobby Workers Get Big Pay Bump

By: Laura Kellerman
Updated: April 15, 2009
Hobby Lobby Stores Inc. is giving all its full-time workers a pay raise to $10 and hour.

Employees who already make $10 or more will be bumped up to $13 an hour, effective immediately.

“This is part of our continuing efforts to reward our employees for their hard work and integrate them into the growth of our company,” said CEO David Green in a press release.

The raises apply to all employees at Hobby Lobby arts and crafts stores, Mardel stores and the company's three Hemisphere furniture stores.

Last year, the Oklahoma-base company gave employees raises of 25 cents an hour to help offset increases in the cost of living.

The national minimum wage is $6.55 an hour.
