Buying movies and music for your iPod is nothing new, but now the public library is allowing you the opportunity to check out music and audio books for you to use without even leaving your living room.
It is a service that's been available for a while, but has become all the more popular now that you can upload the books to your personal music device.
All you need to do is upload the program from the Abilene public library homepage.
The program walks you through the download with step by step instructions, but if you get lost, you can contact the library.
Then, just download the books you want to listen to.
The audio books are just like the ones on the shelf; only one person can listen to it at a time, but you can always re-check the audio book out if you are not through with it.
The file will remain active for 14 days, after which the audio book will become unusable.
Customers will then have the option of confirming checkout, or deleting the file manually.
The mp3 audio book checkout system is available for both PC and MAC users.
