APD: Pot In Home With 5 Year Old

At 3:30 yesterday afternoon, Officer Jenkins arrived in the 1400 block of South 20th to talk to a resident. He was given consent to enter and search the residence. A 26 year old white female and a 32 year old Hispanic male were found to be in possession of marijuana. This residence is located less than 1000 feet from a school and a 5 year old child was present inside the home. Both subjects were arrested for possession of marijuana. Then at 1:10 this morning, Officers Hambright and Valdez heard the sounds of loud engines south of the 1200 block of Grape Street. They observed two vehicles side by side traveling north at a high rate of speed. One of the drivers, a 22 year old white male was arrested for exhibition of acceleration; racing. The other driver, a 20 year old white male, was found to be intoxicated. He was arrested for driving while intoxicated and exhibition of acceleration.
