Taylor Yates is a rancher with some very innovative methods for managing his land and cattle.  He manages the Lee Ray Ranch in Eastland county.  When he took over the nearly 5,00 acre ranch in 2003, it was in less than pristine condition.

Taylor began a  "Flash Grazing" program to insure proper re-growth of native grasses.  His methods prevent overgrazing, and allow for consistent grazing available for his cattle.

Because of his successful program, Taylor was awarded the Outstanding Grassland Stewardship Award for the State of Texas.
