Hendrick Embezzlers Sentenced

The two women who pleaded guilty to embezzling nearly $1 million from Hendrick Health Systems will have to find a way to pay all that money back.Former Hendrick employee Laura Cullers Minor, 52, and Sheri Lynn Mitchell, 48, of Cleveland, Tennessee, were each sentenced today to 30 months in federal prison. A federal judge in Lubbock also ordered them to pay $905,166.05 in restitution.
Both women are accused of embezzling money from Hendrick over a five-year period. According to prosecutors, Mitchell, a Tennessee business owner, would send invoices to Hendrick for unprovided services. Minor, a Hendrick employee, would then bill Hendrick.
Both pleaded guilty in January. They will begin their prison sentences by June 5.
