KRBC recently uncovered several erotic services available in Abilene through craigslist.
The site will replace erotic services with a new adult services section, where every post will be manually reviewed to make sure no prostitution or pornographic images are published.
"This is a win for the safety and security of all who may access craigslist -- especially children," said Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott. "Making these changes is a step in the right direction, as craigslist must work to eliminate prostitution and other illegal conduct on its site.
We will continue to monitor craigslist to ensure it establishes ongoing and meaningful safeguards."
Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal pressed for the elimination of the erotic services sections, calling them nothing more than "an Internet brothel."
Blumenthal pledges to monitor the site to make sure this is more than a name change, and that the manual blocking is tough and effective.
