An old idea is catching on again.

That idea is what were called "Victory Gardens" during World War II.

Families would grow their own fresh fruits and vegitavbles in thier backyards.

In these tough economic times, the Victory garden is beginning to catch on again.

These gardens serve as a great way to save money and also promate better eating habits.

Todd Hooper, of Garden world says that its not too late to get started.

Now is a great time to start planting.

During World War II, Americans grew 40 percent of the fresh vegetables consumed in the United States.
