The area had been used as a storage space for the last 20 years, but now it's home to the new Commissioners Courtroom, as well as two new courtrooms for the JP's office.
The total price on the renovations is between 1.2 and 1.4 million dollars.
"This is the money we taxed a little bit over a period of a number of years," explained Wichita County Judge Woody Gossom, "Actually Judge Gibson is the one who came up with the idea of the permanent improvement fund, and we've simply followed onto that instead of going every few years with some sort of a bond issue."
Judge Gossom said not only does his new courtroom look nice, but it also features some the new technology which will allow the Commissioner's Court proceedings to be streamed on-line for public viewing.
