Madison, Wis. -- The Government Accountability Board (GAB) staff has verified enough signatures to order a recall election against Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker and Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch.

The GAB released total numbers on Thursday afternoon.   Here is a summary of the GAB staff's findings:

For Governor Walker, 931,053 signatures were submitted for verification.  A total of 26,114 signatures were struck by staff and another 4,001 were eliminated due to them being duplicates.  A total of 900,938 valid signatures were identified.

For Lt. Governor Kleefisch, 842,854 signatures were submitted for verification.  A total of 29,601 signatures were struck by staff and another 4,263 were eliminated due to them being duplicates.  A total of 808,990 valid signatures were identified.

Tomorrow, the GAB will meet at the State Capitol.  If the Board adopts staff recommendations and recall elections are ordered, a primary would be held on May 8th.  The general election would be held June 5th.  A primary is likely as there are several Democrats who have announced their candidacy for Governor.
