Mayor Glen Barham joined Congressman Mac Thornberry, and former Texas Representative David Farabee Tuesday for a roundtable discussion at MSU. All three wanted to encourage students to be more active citizens in the community and suggested several ways of to get involved including joining advisory boards or running for local office.
"I find that we get the government that we deserve, and so if you choose not to participate it can happen to you but if you do participate then it can happen for you," said David Farabee, Former TX Representative.
"I think hopefully it helps them to hear those stories but also the encouragement whether, you don't have to run for office, but whether it's participating on local advisory boards or running for school boards," said Congressman Mac Thornberry.
We have many organizations throughout Texoma, where folks can join and become more active in shaping our community.
