Sears Methodist Center in south Abilene may have been sold, but it's function remains the same.

The sale may be a loss for Sears Methodist, but a gain for Wisteria Place nursing home.

Wisteria Place is currently a retirement village, but with the addition of Sears Methodist Center, it will soon be a continuum of care.

So, what does that mean for Wisteria Place?

Wisteria Place administration has already begun moving into the existing Sears Methodist Center building, and the name will change to Wisteria Place on August first.

The good relationship between Wisteria Place and Sears Methodist has not been forfeited.

Doctor Davis says the desire for expansion stems from a close knit community within the retirement home, and Dr. Davis says ultimately, he views Wisteria Place as more than a retirement home, but a ministry.

The transition from Sears Methodist Center to Wisteria Place will be complete in August.
