Retirement is being forfeited by more and more senior citizens due to economic hardships.

One abilene woman has headed back into the workforce in her 80's, but it's not just the economy that's brought her there.

Unlike many people, Jo Jones likes to work.

So when the time came to retire in 1990, it wasn't what she had in mind.

Her desire to serve led her to volunteer later that year at Hendrick Medical Center.

But, after doing that for nearly 15 years, a job opened up at Hendrick and jo felt compelled to take it.

Her love for work isn't all that keeps this 85-year-old active; having a steady source of income in this economy is also a bonus.

Extra money or not, at the end of the day, it's just good old fashioned hard work that brings Jo fulfillment.

Jones says going back to work has also allowed her to help with her sister's medical expenses.
