Some Medicare Patients Left without Care

By: Megan Dobbs
Updated: August 26, 2009

Abilene Medicare patients are having a more difficult time getting the care they need.

That's because more doctors either no longer accept Medicare patients, or simply don't take new medicare patients.

Some local doctors say reimbursements are not covering expenses.

According to the Texas Medical Association, Medicare could slash physician reimbursements by 26 percent over the next few years if no changes are made in Congress.

KTAB's Megan Dobbs spoke to local Medicare patients about the issue. She will have more on that story in Monday's Senior Spotlight.
