In conjunction with Texas Co-op Power magazine, Taylor Electric Co-op invites high school students of co-op households to compete for $4,000 in cash prizes by creating an original, short video about energy efficiency.

"Co-op Teens Power Texas" is a statewide competition open to high school students residing with a parent or legal guardian in a household served by an electric cooperative. Participating students, either working alone or in a group will create a one- to three-minute video providing electricity-saving tips for use in everyday life at home, school, work or in the community.

The grand-prize winner will receive $1,500. If there is school sponsorship for the winning entry, the school will receive $1,000. Six runners-up will each receive $250.

Entries will be accepted between Sept. 1 and Oct. 15, 2009. Rules, entry forms and deadline information is available at www.texascooppower.com <http://www.texascooppower.com under the "Co-op Teens Power Texas" Contest link.
