WACO -- Unbeaten ACU held on to its No. 2 ranking in the American Football Coaches Association Division II poll, which was released on Monday.

ACU (4-0) got 593 points to remain ahead of No. 3 North Alabama (4-0), which received 577 points and one first-place vote. The Wildcats beat Southeastern Oklahoma State, 33-14, Saturday at Shotwell Stadium.  ACU begins Lone Star Conference South Division play Saturday at 6 p.m. when it hosts Eastern New Mexico at Shotwell Stadium.

Grand Valley State (Mich.), which opened the season ranked No. 1, remained at the top. The Lakers received 624 points and 24 first-place votes.  The Lakers barely escaped a huge upset last Saturday, narrowly beating Ferris State (Mich.), 17-10.  Grand Valley will be in Houghton, Mich., Saturday to take on Michigan Tech.

Rounding out the top five are Bloomsburg (Pa.) at No. 4 and Central Washington at No. 5.

Three other LSC teams — all from the South Division — are in the top 25.  Texas A&M-Kingsville remained at No. 10, while Tarleton State moved up from No. 19 to No. 14 in this week's poll.  Midwestern State shot up seven spots from No. 24 to No. 17.
