The economic challenges of this past year have not only affected the business community, but also Texas cattle ranchers.

Along with the economic downturn, ranchers in many parts of Texas this summer had to deal with drought-like conditions. Sam Nichols recently caught up with a Texas livestock specialist to get an update on the cattle business across the state.

Despite these tough times, most ranchers surveyed say they are determined to stay in the cattle business.
