The Dallas Cowboys get the primetime spotlight again this week as they battle the Carolina Panthers on ESPN's Monday Night Football. Dallas has taken seven of the last eight contests between the two teams, including the last three. The single loss came at the end of the 2003 season. At the time, Panthers quarterback Jake Delhomme was on the rise and Tony Romo was an undrafted rookie lucky to be on the roster. Now, it's a completely different situation.
Both Romo and Delhomme are battling criticism following subpar performances in the opening games of the 2009 NFL season.
Romo and the Cowboys may be without one of their most valuable offensive weapons. Cowboys insider Rob Phillips says it's still possible running back Marion Barber may be active for Monday's game. However, Felix Jones is expected to see more time on the field as Barber recovers from a strained quad.
Kickoff takes place at 7:30 p.m. from Cowboys Stadium in Arlington and can be seen on ESPN television.
