Tests on the left knee of Dallas Cowboys running back Felix Jones revealed a sprained posterior cruciate ligament. Jones suffered the injury during Mondays 21-7 victory over Carolina. Head coach Wade Phillips called Jones "day to day" and did not rule him out of Sundays game at Denver. Cowboys insiders say with a short week ahead, its unlikely Jones will play. He will receive treatment this week and the medical and training staff will monitor his progress.
"It could get well quickly," said head coach Wade Phillips. . . . "Its all real subjective in the first place and then its individual with each player and how quickly they come back and how serious it is, how serious the injury is. I cant predict that."
The Boys were without star running back Marion Barber this week. Barber suffered a quad injury against the New York Giants last week. The injury was originally given a 10-to-14 day recovery timetable. Barber was limited in practice last week and lobbied to play, but the team made a medical decision to rest him over the weekend.
The uncertain status of Barber and Jones means Tashard Choice will likely get significant playing time this week.
The Cowboys play the 3-0 Denver Broncos Sunday before playing against Kansas City on October 11.
