The Abilene High Eagles got the District 3-5A season started on a great note on Friday night.

The Eagles jumped on the Burleson Elks early and rolled to a 37-3 district opening victory.

Big plays and great defense were the order of the day in the game. 3 of the Eagles touchdowns came on plays of 63 yards or more.

Abilene High is 1-0 in District 3-5A. They are back at home this week to take on Fort Worth Paschal. Abilene High won last year's game, 81 to 3.
