October is breast cancer awareness month. In this weeks Senior Spotlight  we show you a fashionable way to raise awareness and money for breast cancer research.

Call it couture for a cure. These may look like regular jeans, but they will not when designers are finished decorating them.  The jeans will be part of the fight against breast cancer.

These women are trying to tap into their artistic side as part of a fundraiser called Blue Jeans in Pink. The fundraiser is in honor of breast cancer awareness month.   Clothing company Coldwater Creek is giving away 16 pairs of jeans, all designed by celebrities.

The celebrity designers include actresses Andie Macdowell and Susan Lucci, and country superstar Faith Hill. 100% of all donations made in October will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, and the company will match donations up to $100,000.

Their vice president, Lyn Walther, says it is a stylish way to help fight a disease that strikes nearly 200,000 women each year.

Celebrity stylist Sam Saboura got involved in the campaign after watching his mother deal with a breast cancer scare. Saboura says, "This cause is personal to me because my mother went through a breast cancer scare a couple of years ago and it was completely out of the blue, and nothing that we had expected, and it was shocking."

This event is designed to raise awareness and increase education. One shopper says, "You're going to see the jeans, you're going to think breast cancer, you're going to think, 'when did i last get my mammogram?'"
