Leach Not Sorry for "Fat Girlfriends" Comment

Texas Tech's head football coach Mike Leach is standing behind his controversial reference to the "fat little girlfriends" he thinks distracted his team which was embarrassed by Texas A&M over the weekend.

On Monday, Leach insisted he was not going to apologize, saying he and his coaching staff had failed to convince the Red Raiders they'd better take the Aggies seriously on Saturday.

"For one thing, their fat, little girlfriends are telling them what they want to hear, which is how great you are and how easy it's going to be," he continued on.

Then, wrapping up his comments, Leach used the term once more, saying this week he would go to whatever lengths necessary to keep his team focused.

"There will be some people inconvenienced, and if it happens to be their fat, little girlfriends, too bad."

Tech had been a three-touchdown favorite but lost to the Aggies 52 to 30, knocking the Red Raiders out of the major national rankings.
