Abilene High running back Herschel Sims is one of the most valuable players for the Eagles, and he could be the most valuable player in the district.

Sims has over 1,000 yards of total offense, and he averages over 10 yards per touch.

He is clearly important for what he can do athletically.

His coach says he's just as important to the Eagles because of what he does off the field as a leader.

Herschel and the Eagles play for their 5th district title in the last 6 years tomorrow night against Richland.

That game is also the final leg of a 3-game road stretch for AHS.
