The HSU Cowboys are set to make the trip across town to McMurry for the college version of the Crosstown Showdown.

The McMurry Nation is coming off their bye week after winning 4 straight games in American Southwest Conference play.

The week off came a little for head coach Hal Mumme's liking, but he says the team used the week well.

The HSU Cowboys are riding a 4-game winning streak, as well.

The offense is averaging 29 points a game in their winning streak, and the defense continues to improve.

HSU has kept it together through a rough year. The players say the coaches deserve the credit.

HSU and McMurry play for the 22nd time since 1990 at McMurry's Moore Stadium at 2 on Saturday. The Cowboys have won every meeting since restarting the program in 1990.
