APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) Democrats in Appleton are making the most of precious time. They spent all day Monday making phone calls and going door to door to support Tom Barrett.
Former Lieutenant Governor Barbara Lawton gave volunteers in Appleton a last minute pep-talk. She served our state for eight years with Governor Jim Doyle. Lawton says the Fox River Valley is a critical area to win Tuesday because of the high concentration of independent and undecided voters.
That's why many of those volunteers are going door to door again on Tuesday morning. Lawton addressed some recent attacks on the Milwaukee Mayor.
"The fact that we have those high job loss numbers is because our state has been branded as a place that is at war. And we need to get back together and back on track in Wisconsin," says Lawton.
The door hangings these folks put out Monday afternoon also including information on where to vote.
