Nearly 400,000 people visit Big Bend National Park every year, but comparatively few know about Big Bend Ranch State Park about two hours down the road.

Texas Parks and Wildlife hopes to change that by inviting the public to a free Fiesta November 14th.  The event will be held at the state's largest and wildest park, so visitors can celebrate expanded recreational opportunities.

The event offers park tours, hikes, guided mountain bike and horseback rides.  There will also be various demonstrations from desert survival to basic camping, so folks can take advantage of the 50 new campsites in remote areas.

Each new campsite comes with a fire ring, picnic table, and a place to put your tent.  Group sites and equestrian campsites are available too.

Other amenities include restrooms at some group sites, new signage and furniture at the Sauceda Headquarters and a new gift store.
