Cowboys Fall Hard in 17-7 Loss

If you thought the Dallas Cowboys finally hit their stride and were headed directly to the playoffs, you may want to slow down a tad.

The Cowboys (6-3) offense looked pitiful in a 17 to 7 loss to the Green Bay Packers Sunday afternoon. Tony Romo had trouble finding time to get the ball to his receivers. Instead of easily completing passes, he spent most of the day trying to dodge defenders. Romo managed to pass for 251 yards, a touchdown, and one pick.

Roy Williams had his best day, yardage wise, catching five balls for 105 yards and a touchdown. However, Williams dropped one pass that went directly through his hands and fumbled one big competition.

The Cowboys running game didn't fare well at all. Marian Barber, Tashard Choice, and Felix Jones only ran the ball a combined 10 times. Barber had 26 yards, Choice got 13, and Jones averaged 2 yards a carry for 6 yards on the day.

Dallas' defense only gave up 17 points. Usually, that would be enough to get the team win. Dallas defenders were able to keep Packers quarterback Aaron Rogers on his toes throughout the day. Rogers only threw for 189 yards and one touchdown. Rogers was sacked four times.

Possibly the biggest loss of the day was offense lineman Mark Columbo. Initial reports are that he broke a bone in his leg. He's likely out for the rest of the regular season.

The Cowboys face division rival Washington next week.
