Eagles Soar Past E.P. Coronado

 The Abilene High Eagles are alive in the Class 5A playoffs after dominating E.P. Coronado on Saturday in Midland.

The Eagles scored on their 1st 5 possessions to take control of the Area championship game.

Herschel Sims had almost 280 total yards and 3 touchdowns.

Quarterback Ronnell Sims had over 250 total yards, and he had a hand in 3 touchdowns.

Defensively, the Eagles held Coronado in check.

The level of competition takes a decided step up this week. The Eagles face Cedar Hill at the Birdville Athletic Complex.

Cedar Hill is ranked 4th in the state in the Harris Ratings at number 1 by AP.
