Offsite Early Voting May Return for All of White County

By: The Daily Citizen, Searcy
Updated: June 19, 2012
Early voting was not available for the 2012 primary election outside of Searcy, but local officials are working to have the issue resolved by the 2012 general election on Nov. 6.

"We want to bring it back," said Winston Collier, chairman of the White County Election Commission. "We are trying to see what we would need to feel comfortable to bring it back."

In 2010, the election commission offered early voting in Beebe and Bald Knob, but decided to not have it for the 2012 primary election because of a possibility that the "integrity of the election" could be compromised, Collier said previously.

Election Coordinator Leslie Bellamy said the offsite voting could be implemented with Internet access added for the county's use at Beebe City Hall and at Temple Baptist Church in Bald Knob, where early voting would be held.
