AHS Falls To National Champ In Virtual Tournament

SEMIFINALS: Abilene lost to Don Bosco from New Jersey in the semifinals of the Massey Virtual National Championship.
The Ironmen advance to the national championship game with a 43 to 37 victory over Abilene High.
A champion will be declared Jan. 9.

QUARTER FINALS: Abilene High beat Highlands 35-13 in the quarter final of the Massey Virtual National Championship. The team goes on to play national champions Don Boscoe.
Don Boscoe's odds were 1:3 at the start of the tournament, with Abilene at 1:16.
A champion will be declared Jan. 9.
ROUND THREE: The Massey Virtual National Championship continues at highschoolsports.net, and the Abilene High Eagles are still alive.
The Eagles won their 3rd round game against Butler High School from Matthews, North Carolina.
The Eagle beat the Bulldogs by the final of 35-19 to advance to the quarterfinals.
Highlands High School from Fort Thomas, Kentucky is next for Abilene High.
Highlands is the number 2 seed in the South Region. Abilene High is the top seed.

Tomorrow the Eagles take on Butler High School from Matthews, North Carolina in the 3rd round. Butler won the Class 4A state championship with a 15-0 record.

The opening round of the tournament kicked off today with the number one seed from the South Region, Abilene High taking down Har-Ber High School from Arkansas, 18-14.
Tomorrow the Eagles are set to face the 20th ranked team according to the ESPN Fab 50 Rankings, South Panola High School from Mississippi. The Tigers are the Class 6A State Champions of Mississippi.
Warbirds to Play for Virtual National Title: After knocking off the 2-time defending State Champion Katy the Abilene High Eagles learned that that win wasn't enough to capture a methodical national championship.
Despite ESPN selecting Don Bosco Prep from New Jersey as the FAB 50 National Champion the Warbirds can still have a shot at that virtual national title in a tournament developed by a mathematician who created the BCS Rankings.
Abilene High was selected as a number one overall seed in the South division to play in a virtual 64-team March Madness style tournament.
