In just a year and a half, the Cooper Recycling Program has already sent over 16-tons of paper to the Abilene Recycling Center.

The group has gone above and beyond in more ways than one.  The recycling program at Cooper High School is set apart from the rest.

The group is composed of special needs students from the school, and is known as the Green Team. It all started with Alex Richardson. The program began last year, and has already been recognized by the state.

"Alex and the group won the leadership award at the Keep Texas Beautiful conference."

The entire process, from start to finish, has been a learning experience for the entire school.  Leading by example, it's another way people are Going Green across the Big Country.  The Green Team has continued to grow over the past year, and they say they hope they have motivated other students on campus.
